Personnel basket

Timar’s personnel basket is approved for personnel lifting, and is a safe and stable work platform for working at height. The basket is designed for good access to container stacks on board ships. It is available in 20 or 40 feet, and has ISO corners that attach to the container spreader of the harbor crane. There is one door on each long side of the 20-foot basket, and two doors on each long side of the 40-foot basket. These lock automatically.

The basket has a 1m high safety fence, with an internal railing to prevent crushing injuries to the operators’ hands. On the short sides, the floor is 10cm lower, and has a longitudinal edge to prevent tools from falling out. Each corner also has a working opening for access to the ISO corners of stacked containers. The roof is open at each corner. On the inside of each corner post hangs a safety chain, which is attached as a backup to the twistlocks in case they break under catastrophic load. The basket can be equipped with several boxes for storing equipment, and attachment hooks for fall protection, according to the customer’s wishes. Other modifications can also be made. Initially, the basket has two hooks for attaching fall protection equipment, but can be equipped with up to eight.
