The BTC-spreader is delivered as a semi automatic model with two ways to operate; automatic and manual. It function after the «gravity and lift» principle, which means that opening and locking is performed by the crane operator bu lifting and lowering the crane hook while the spreader is on top of the container. The BTC-spreader comes in different sizes from 10 to 40 feet. Standard lifting capacity is 35 to 40 tonnes, but can be delivered with as much as 50 tonnes. 

Every BTC-spreaders are equipped with robust guide arms for easy manoeuvring the spreader on top of the containers ISO-corner castings. To handle objects where the corner castings for any reason are not available, or over height lifting or flats, the spreaders are equipped with lifting eyes for lifting lugs and other lifting equipment. These have the same capacity as the spreader itself.

The top sling consists of two pieces of two part 22 mm GRADE 100 chain with two master rings to be attached to a double crane hook. We can also offer steel rope (wire) or fiber.

The mechanical locking system is easy to monitor, and the cost for maintenance and service is thus low.

Every BTC-spreader is made according to EN 15056:2006+A1:2009. The spreaders are CE-marked, quality tested with load and delivered according to the Machinery Directive, form 4 and ILO, form 3. The BTC-spreader can also be equipped with a Centrelizer for safe handling of uneven loaded containers.
